We pride ourselves in having some of the most technically skilled workers in the industry. The majority of our employees are technical tradespeople – roofers, glaziers, and sheet-metal workers – and we promote apprenticeship training. We provide financial assistance while our apprentices are training, encouraging them to complete the appropriate certification. We also pay for tuition, books, registration fees, and other required materials.
We also encourage our branch managers to hire students on work terms, helping them gain work experience in their chosen fields of study. These co-op positions have allowed us to establish good relationships with colleges across the country, and have helped us find strong candidates. In many cases, the students who come to us through co-op work terms come to work for Flynn after graduation.
